The Gardener's Eye
Around fifteen years ago, I fell in love with gardening. My journey with perennials, roses, and shrubs in the Midwest has not only added depth to my life but also enriched my photography. Gardening, with its challenges of soil types, climate, and wildlife, parallels the art of composition in photography. Both require an understanding of structure, balance, and the harmonious interplay of elements.
Though largely self-taught, I owe much of my growth to the wisdom imparted by influential figures in photography and gardening. Leonie Bell, Derek Fell, Freeman Patterson, and others have shaped my approach, guiding me towards a deeper appreciation of the natural world and the art of capturing it.
